Ramakrishna mission (1897) :

It was founded by Swami Vivekananda on 1 May 1897 not in 1896. It is a Hindu religious and spiritual organisation. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was poor priest in a temple in Dakshineshwar, Kolkata and he had no formal education and his chief disciple was Vivekananda, a young graduate of Calcutta university. Vivekananda carried Ramakrishna’s messages all over the world. Vivekananda attended ‘Parliament of Religions’ held in Chicago in 1893 and his speech there had a great impact worldwide.
